Steam’s release_date field on 15 August 2026 reads Aug 13, 2026, not coming soon. The 'Sandustry is Released!' news post confirms a 35 percent launch discount. The US store snapshot that day was $14.99 marked down to $9.74. Prices move. Check the live store.

System requirements

Steam minimum for Windows is 64-bit Windows 10, a quad-core such as i5-4670K or FX-8100, 4 GB RAM, GTX 550 Ti or HD 7750 class GPU with 1 GB, DirectX 11, and 1 GB disk with an SSD recommended. Recommended climbs to a hexa-core such as i5-9600K or Ryzen 5 1600, 8 GB RAM, and GTX 960 / RX 570 class with 4 GB. macOS minimum is macOS 12 Monterey. Linux lists the same CPU/GPU band without an OS line.

This is a pixel simulation, not a 1 GB joke. v0.5.3’s first post-launch hotfix already talks about memory. Give it the SSD and the RAM.

Demo versus Early Access

The demo teaches wetting, shaking, and the joy of sand in your belts. Early Access is the live planet, the research tree with published Gold costs, Workshop, and 16 Steam achievements. Highlighted achievements include Promotion Protocol, Gold in the Bin, Flux It Up, Ancient Technology, First Bloom, Void Touched, Critter Catcher, Quartermaster, First Spark, and Stratacore Secured.

Trailer copy mentions PC Game Pass in some press rounds. If you use Game Pass, confirm the live storefront. This page will not invent Xbox cloud support that the launch-week notes on competing wikis already treat as absent.

Languages on Steam include English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian, and several other European locales. Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian storefronts still show the English title Sandustry. We keep that title instead of inventing a transliteration.

Buy the store that you will actually patch. Steam has Workshop, Cloud, achievements, and the hotfix firehose. GOG and Microsoft Store are listed in launch trailer language. Confirm achievements and Workshop before you pick a launcher for convenience. The demo remains a fair teacher and a bad home. It will not receive the same tree. Family Sharing is on the Steam category list if you need it. There is no invented mobile client. There is no invented season pass. There is a $14.99 list price that was 35 percent off on launch week, and there is a 1 GB install that still wants an SSD because the simulation is the game.

Practice that survives a patch

itch.io remains a Lantto page even after Hooded Horse took the Steam key. It is useful for old demo notes and the black-and-gold visual that matches the official capsule. It is not the live patch channel. Discord and Reddit are linked from sandustry.com if you want humans. This wiki will not scrape those chats into fake patch numbers.

Close the loop

System RAM is the spec people skip because the install is 1 GB. v0.5.3 already mentioned memory. Give the game 8 GB if you can. The recommended table is not marketing for a cinematic. It is the simulation budget.

Family Sharing and Steam Cloud are listed because this is a single-player factory you will want on two machines. They are not multiplayer. There is no co-op line on the store page.
